The Underwood rockets hosted the Rothsay Tigers in a Little Eight matchup Tuesday night.  Rothsay finished the first half on a 20-6 run to take a 36-16 halftime lead.  The Tigers completed the victory with a 69-42 final.

“We came out of the gates a little slow and Underwood really outplayed us the first 8-9 minutes of the game,” said Rothsay Head Coach Taylor Fuhs, “but our boys really picked up the pressure and played well the remainder of the game”

Rothsay was led by Colby Larson with 25 points and Matthew Danielson with 14.  The Tigers made 60% (28-46) of their field goal attempts and forced 23 Underwood turnovers.

"We played them close for 3/4 of the game, but had a stretch towards the end of the first half, where we couldn't take care of the ball and gave them too many chances to score,” reported Underwood Head Coach Evan Meece.  “We did a nice job in the second half of taking care of the ball, but that end of the first half was too much for us."

Leaders for the Rockets were Krosby Aasness with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists, Evan Lundgren with 5 assists and Gavin Pausch with 4 rebounds.  Kaleb Hammes, Joey Kupfer and Drew Evavold each added six points for the Rockets.  Underwood shot just 35% (16-45) from the field.

Rothsay (5-5) will host Wheaton/Herman-Norcross on Thursday night.

Underwood (0-10) is at Ashby on Friday.
