At the end of last season, the Rothsay girls’ basketball team was starting to come together as a team, winning 5 of their last 8 regular season games.  Head Coach Anita Heier, now in her 8th season, hopes to build off that late season momentum as the Tigers return seven letter winners from that team.

Seniors Kenadi Carlsrud (F) and Katie Reber (P) will serve as team captains.  They are joined by returning letter winners Elli Meyer (Jr. Guard), and freshmen Savannah Sullivan (Guard), Bethany Danielson (Guard) and McKenzie Tillman (Guard).

Heier will be looking for varsity contributions from senior posts Madison Tillman and Hayden Emery, junior forward Kinsey Heier and sophomore guard Lisa Kjelgaard.

“We continue to improve every year with our defense and shooting percentages,” commented Coach Heier.  “We have lots of senior post players that will be looking to make an impact and they will be a big key to our success this year.  Our depth in the guard spot will be an asset as well.  Looking forward to a fun year with this great group of girls!”

Heier is assisted by Allison Grefsrud and Kellie Barry.  She sees Hancock and Underwood as the top teams in the Section 6A and the Little Eight Conference.
