Battle Lake continued their excellent season with an 88-44 win over Rothsay on Tuesday night on the Battlers home court.  Jack Mekalson (29 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals), Owen Buehler (25 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists) and Mason Dalluge (16 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 blocks).

"With no practice or school on Wednesday I didn't know what to expect from the guys tonight but they came out ready to play and played hard for 36 minutes,” stated Head Coach Brady Cameron of Battle Lake.  “I was happy with our energy and effort all night on both ends of the floor and it showed up on the scoreboard at the end of the night.  I was happy with our finishing in the paint and coming away with 42 points.  I was also happy with our rebound on the night as we outrebounded them 59-22 led by Bradyn Roisum with 13, Jack with 10 to go along with his 29 points for the double-double, and Mason and Drew Johnson came away with 9 apiece.  Our defense really stepped up holding them to 27% from the floor and only giving up 10 points in the paint to them tonight.  They are an athletic team that likes to score in the paint and keeping them out of there was a big focus for us tonight.”

Battle Lake (18-4, 12-2 LEC) plays at Brandon-Evansville on Monday, will host Hillcrest on Tuesday and will play at Bertha-Hewitt on Friday.

Rothsay (3-19, 0-15 LEC) will travel to Graceville for a game against Border West on Tuesday, and will host a non-conference opponent, Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal, on Friday night.
