The season ended on Monday night for the Rothsay girls’ basketball team as they suffered a 52-44 loss to Ada-Borup-West in the Section 6A playoffs.  Rothsay held a slim 23-22 halftime lead against the Cougars.

“These girls played with so much heart and energy tonight,” stated Rothsay Head Coach Anita Heier. “I couldn’t be more proud of our girls for battling from start to finish. It was a great back and forth game but we couldn’t come up with enough stops at the end to claim the victory. This loss doesn’t take away from the fun and exciting season these girls had this year. Our senior leadership of Kenadi Carlsrud, Madison Tillman, Katie Reber and Hayden Emery was a big reason for the success these girls had this year.”

Bethany Danielson led the Tigers with 17 points and she was joined in double figures by Savannah Sullivan with 14 points.  Madison Tillman had another double digit rebounding night with 10 boards, while scoring 5 points.

Ada-Borup-West will face second-seeded Henning on Thursday night at 7:00pm.
