Brody Nachbor ran for 161 yards and 3 touchdowns, and caught 2 passes for 72 yards and a fourth TD, leading the Border West Buccaneers to a 32-14 victory over the Rothsay Tigers on Friday night. The Bucs had 341 (195 rushing, 146 passing) yards of total offense and the defense forced 5 turnovers (4 interceptions, 1 fumble).
Nachbor broke loose for a 56 yard touchdown run in the first quarter as the Buccaneers took a 6-0 lead. His 9-yard run in the second quarter made it 12-0, however, the Tigers returned the ensuing kickoff 60 yards for a score and had a successful two-point conversion to trim the Bucs lead to 12-8.
Marshall Tolifson hooked up with Holden Rinke on a 49 yard TD pass in the 3rd quarter and then hit Kevin Casper for the two-point conversion and a 20-8 lead.
Tolifson then connected with Nachbor on a 27 yard TD pass early in the fourth quarter, increasing the Buccaneers lead to 26-8. Rothsay made it 26-14 on a 10 yard TD pass, and Nachbor finished the scoring with a 9 yard run to put the final at 32-14.
Tolifson completed 8-of-14 passes for 146 yards and a pair of TDs. Rinke caught two passes for 54 yards and Casper had 3 receptions for 13 yards. Defensively, Casper and Brayden Andrews led with 8 tackles apiece and Rinke was in on 7 tackles. Andrews picked off a pass and also recovered a fumble. Peyton Forcier had 2 interceptions and Jude Olson also had one.
Rothsay did not report any individual stats.
